I just returned from a week of travel to Dallas and Atlanta. What a wonderful time it was re-connecting with friends and meeting some new.

In Dallas, Marc Dingler (2007) asked me to assist him at the annual Green Beret Classic Golf Tournament and Gala where CITR offered a one pair scholarship as a silent auction item. This Classic one day event is an incredible fundraiser founded by Paul McDonald to assist our wounded Green Beret heroes as they transition back to civilian life. It was an emotional moving day for me. I was so grateful to be able to participate. Thanks Marc.

Gearing up for The Great Divide 2014

I just returned from southern Colorado scouting the route for next year’s CITR Great Divide bicycle adventure. My intention was to complete this and photograph the route before the fall colors began to occur. Well, I was partially unsuccessful but wow what a beautiful trip! At the higher elevations fall colors are spectacular where as below 10,000 feet, it's still summer. b2ap3_thumbnail_Fall-colors-taken-092013.jpg

You may not think this is news worthy but it has been quite the ride  around here the last few days.  I grew up in Fort Collins. I don’t ever remember an occasion when a bridge was  closed due to flooding. On Friday every bridge in our city was closed down. (approximately 6).  It virtually cut the city in half bringing us all to a standstill.  With a break in the weather I got out on bike in the afternoon to check out the Poudre River. (see photo).

What a remarkable month June has been. We held two camps both hosted at YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park Center. Both camps were father/son “Passage to Manhood” adventures. Both were uniquely beautiful and different.

What an incredible fun packed weekend  as Christ in the Rockies celebrated a successful initial capital fundraising campaign. We hosted alumni, friends and staff from as far as Dallas and Atlanta to collectively think back, tell stories and express gratitude regarding what has been accomplished through so many people who have given so much.

With these funds CITR will be able to expand its father/son  adventure and materials offering. The goal is to utilize these resources to off-set costs as the ministry expands and moves towards sustainability.

I have been so taken aback  by the generous support of alumni,  friends and the very fine folks at OtterBox  (www.OtterBox.com) for their gracious matching gift.

With gratitude

Mike Haddorff,  Exec. Director

These are a few of the volunteers and friends of CITR who were on hand to help celebrate this milestone.
