Today we conclude our examination of verse 14 by looking closely at the phrase, “grace and truth.” Similar to “only begotten son,” this phrase also triggers an Old Testament idea which John’s readers would have known. Like last time, we will look at the historical meaning of this phrase and how John applies the phrase to The Word becoming flesh.
