Jesus addresses those seeking to seize Him by stating that the day is coming when they will be looking for Him and He will not be found and where He is at that time they will not be able to come. At first reading it appears that Jesus is thumbing His nose at these jewish leaders, a type of payback for how they attempted to treat Him. However, within the historical and immediate context of our story there may be another way to understand this. Let’s take a look.
