Genesis 32:1-8, “The Great Squeeze”

 

An agreement has been made, the hatchet has been buried and now time to move on. After a quick breather at Mahanaim, “God’s Camp”, Jacob now faces a monumental challenge. Confronting the demons of one’s past is by far some of the most difficult work a man will do. Not only is he face to face with the immediate unknown, but he is dragging with him his baggage of guilt and shame of what he has done. He knows what he deserves but yet terrified by the same. Let’s begin to unpack this story as today we focus on “The Great Squeeze.”
