Genesis 31-29-30, “Victim Power”

 

Have you ever heard the words, “You just don’t understand?” The context is usually some sort of discussion where you are attempting to reason through some matter with another. But then, out of the blue, this phrase is played as a Trump card, followed by, “you have not gone through what I have gone through.” This one two combination leaves you speechless, frustrated and many times angry. This has happened to me many times in my life, by people close to me. As I have aged I’ve come to realize that these phrases along with a handful of others are tools designed to manipulate. It is what I have come to term, “Victim Power”
