Genesis 30:6-8

Both sisters appear to be operating from the same perspective, that being, who can bear the most babies. This self created contest is motivated by a deep seated need to win. To win is defined here as simply whatever it takes to beat the opponent. As a man, winning is important. Somehow through prevailing over another we feel better about ourselves. Why is that? What is it about “out manning” another that bolsters my perceived value as a human being? This subject is what we are currently exploring. Join in and let’s see where it leads.
