“From Grief To Blessing”

Genesis 27:1-4

Last time we explored how disappointment and heartache often follows a victory. The reason being of course is because life is mixed. As you and I live out our days our life experiences are categorized and indexed within our minds. Sometime within our second half of life we begin adopting a perspective on “how life works.” This emerging perspective is greatly influenced by how we have categorized and indexed our prior life experiences. This perspective eventually results in a path we walk that becomes increasingly difficult to change as we age. The path we find ourselves walking later in life is ultimately defined by one of two characteristics. It is either a path of disappointment and resentment for how things should have been or it is a path characterized by gratefulness and joy. Let’s continue our look at this story to discover Isaacs’ next move from grief to blessing.
